Pavan the Myth Buster
2 of my colleagues went to Australia recently. I was totally excited. I could finally get so many things cleared about Australia. I had so many myths to get clarified! The first thing I asked them to verify was to see if the water goes the other way down a sink when filled enough i.e. whether it goes anti-clockwise instead of clockwise like it does here, in the Northern Hemisphere. Oh, for some of you tube lights, that was the origin of the myths about Oz - it being in Southern Hemisphere. I am essentially talking about it this.
So it turns out that water does rotate in the same direction in both hemispheres. I actually have asked my friend to take photos and he has. I just couldn't hold back till I got hold of the photos. So I will do an edit and put up the photo soon.
This opens up a very interesting path now doesn't it? I now want to start "coming up" with potential myths about various places. I know it is kind of wrong, but what the hell? As to whether these myths are true - your guess is as good as mine!
These are my 5 myths:
1) There are teetotalers in Sweden
2) Along with other tricks, people are taught to do XPath in Russian circus
3) There are more people in Great Britain than the number of virgin men in India
4) Gorge Bush is tolerated in by human race
5) Amsterdam is a good place to bring up your(hopefully) kid
These just came to the top of my mind. Of course, there are a million more like these. SO, I tag you, you, you, you, you, you and you to come up with 5 myths each. Have Fun!

These are the things that I believED in ... maybe not myths ... But they turned out to be untrue :-(
1) When I grow up I ll magically know what to do in life(professionally).
2) When I grow up I ll magically know what to do in my love life.( fall in love with the right person )
3) When I grow up I ll magically become proficient in my sex life.( content surpressed )
This was the most shattering one ... I was not the same person after I found out the truth abt this one ...
4) WWF is real. (WTF!!!)
You didnt ask for mine, anyways thought i will share mine.
Also, i dont know if they are really "myths" (i dont think so, i believe in them very much).
So here it goes:

#4 Animals don't lie
#3 Real people sit behind ATMs and vend money
#2 If everyone in India jumps at the same time from about a metre high, there will be an earthquake in china or usa.
#1 We are in a virtual world, i mean there is nothing "real" (am sure you will agree with this one)

Hmm.. As of now, I can recollect some of these -
1. When a black cat crosses from your left to right , it supposedly indicates that its bad luck. So, going back 10 steps will reduce the bad luck!!
2. When a person is about to leave home for some good job, he is not supposed to be asked where he is going. If asked, job doesn't get done. Sitting down for sometime and leaving solves the problem!!
3. Laughing too much is apparently not good!! So, pinching your hand 3 times will stop u from crying a lot..(This is what I used to hear at school)
4. The world would end on May 2000 (This, apparently, was predicted by Nostradamus). I was just eagerly waiting to know if it would happen before my birthday! :P But nothing happened!!! :(
5. Ghosts don't exist!! ( I am sure this is a very famous myth, which has been proved to be wrong a LOT of times)
